Since we are enjoying fresh, ripe mangoes and lots strawberries here in the Bay Area, I think this is what I am going to toss into the blender for our Friday night date - what do you think? Looks pretty scrumptious -
(photo and recipe courtesy of my friend Rum Shop Ryan -
check out his blog - "A Tropical Lifestyle, the Coconut Connection Blog" )
Mango Daiquiri (makes 2)
3 ounces rum
1 1/2 cups mangoes, cubed
3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1 ounce triple sec
4 teaspoons sugar
2 cups ice cubes
- Blend in a blender until smooth. Pour 1/4 of drink mixture into a glass.
Strawberry Daiquiri (makes 2)
1 ounce light rum
1 ounce strawberry schnapps
1 ounce fresh lime juice
dash orange juice
2 cups ice cubes
- Blend in a blender until smooth. Pour 1/4 of drink mixture on top of Mango Daquiri mixture.
I will let you know how they turn out - if you have a favorite recipe, send it to me, and I will share. Will be publishing a new Friday night date treat every Thursday!
I saved a few of these fun swirling fish wine glasses just for me, will see how they work for our mango - strawberry cocktails blend!
Thanks for sharing the recipe!
my pleasure - can't wait to try the recipe tomorrow night. Now, to find a nice appy to go with!
I thought you were used to cold summers on the California coast! Well, we had one of those non-summers last year in Chicago and it was a bummer, I'm telling you. This year, hot, hot, hot and I'm loving it. Glad you are enjoying summer nontheless. Great article.
the deck....the cocktail...the glass....all look divine.. thanks for a view of your summer plans and fun. enjoying the blog. best, tamara
Oh, how I wish you were my neighbor, I would be waiting for you at your patio with my glass ready for you to pour me one of those. I love anything mango! I eat one once a day. So excited for this weekend, it's B's birthday.
I'm also loving the coral cushions!!
That setting looks absolutely beautiful! And the drink-- Mmmm ♥
We haven't had guest to dinner on the deck ONCE this summer because it has been too...(what's the word)...BRACING! I on the other hand love the coolness, while husband sits shivering in his arctic parka.
Maybe we'll have a splendid Indian summer?
OOh sounds so delicious:):)
Caron, that Mango Tango sounds divine!!! And I adore that coral fabric... Pruxxx
I agree summer has been MIA in the North West also. Today looks promising and so does that drink. Daahroool...
