Ten Patriotic Rooms - Nautical Style!

It's that time of year - break out the Red, White and Blue!

Summer is almost here with the arrival of Memorial Day weekend fun! Our team has been collecting room decorating inspiration for adding a red, white and blue American nautical style to your home, and I think we've found some winners! Check out these colorful rooms, and see how easy it is to change a few decor accents and you can decorate for summer holidays by the water.

1. Cute cottage room from Shannon at Fox Hollow Cottage -  Adding red, white and blue themed coastal pillows (don't you just love First Mate rectangle pillow!?) and voila', Shannon's room is ready for a Memorial Day weekend or Fourth of July party.  Using American Flags  always sets the mood!

2.  Adorable, fresh summer space created at Country Living Magazine!   A wonderful combination of traditional coastal accents; the rope lamp, coral specimens and a large starfish, mixed with red, white and blue pillows plus a vintage quilt,  make this room instantly come alive with American summer style!

3. Spotted at Southern Living, a color-filled sun porch, created in Galveston, Texas with a distinct Northeast flair.  Love it!  Anchored with one of our favorite nautical wool rugs at Caron's Beach House, this space looks incredibly warm and inviting!

4.  Kristy's fresh tablescape for a patriotic party.. Also notice the red, white and blue throw pillows in the background that pull the entire open concept room together!  From Starfish Cottage Blog.   Looks inviting and very "coastal farmhouse" with the cottage-styled linens and natural textures.

5.   Ready for an outdoor party? This idea is so simple; just add red, white and blue stripes. An absolute "can't miss" coastal look!  Timeless American style that is so easy to mix and match with other pillows to create a different look for any time of the year. P.S. Garden stools are the PERFECT accessory for an extra side table or seating! (Source: Ciao Newport Beach)

We have some fab cabana outdoor pillows that we've added in just the past month that would work great for this outdoor space!   (all under $24.00!!)

Or maybe try some fun signal flag styled throw pillows?

6.  Patriotic Colors without the flags - I like it!  Feels like summer 4th of July holidays, without the "overboard nautical" cliche decor'.   From Amanda Nesbit (one of my design crushes!)

7. Think this might be originally from Pottery Barn (love what they do!)  Re-discovered at Completely-Coastal  Fun idea of using the vintage-like buoys to create an wall art display and add the red, white and blue details.

8.  A little bit over the top with nautical and red, white and blue - but I still like it!  Love the vintage ships' wheel, perfect for a maritime cottage style.  (Source: Town and Country Living)

9.  Modern, with a hint of coastal whimsy (cool art!) I just love this eclectic room. A classic blue and white striped rug anchors this room and then everything else is layered in. See how creating your perfect room, that reflects your travels and your family does not have to be "matchy-matchy"? Flag pillow added for a patriotic touch! (so sorry, not sure of the source)

10. And last, but not least - an adorable beach bedroom redo in red, white and blue from Thistlewood Farms. So fun, and fresh!   I could even try this idea in our home - start with a white "canvas" and layer in the coastal patterns with pillows, lighting and fun art. The blue and white striped bench is a wonderful accent to complete the space!

What do you think?  Do you decorate for the 4th of July?  Or with a nautical red, white and blue theme? Would love to see your rooms!

Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!  You will find us with a good book, sitting by the Pacific Ocean.....

Check it out! Caron's Beach House had three blue and white Nautical decorating products featured this summer in 425 Magazine!   Great collection to inspire some maritime updating, and great advice to not go "overboard" when decorating with a nautical theme.  Love how they grouped together these fun home decor items with a nautical, seafaring feel, sticking to just a few color shades.

You also can't go wrong with adding a little rope, and a whale or two!

Here's a closer look at the products from our store that 425 chose:
The Blue Cascade Woven BasketDesigned to keep clutter at bay, the bulb-shaped basket is set apart by a wave of blue ombre-inspired color that will blend beautifully with existing decor, whether your space is by land or sea.
The Serin Chunky Knit ThrowWatch storms, or enjoy a great novel while wrapped up in our new super soft, ultra Serin Chunky Knit Throw, with a beautiful modern pattern of nautical navy blue chevron stripes.

Newport Bay Striped Rug in Navy Classic, casual striped nautical home rug in navy and off white.  Super durable, woven of 100% cotton, and has two looks for the price of one! Wide stripes on one side and a smaller pattern of stripes on the reverse side.

We were very excited to have the style editors pick a number of our products for their gorgeous lifestyle magazine out of Bellevue, Washington.   I do have to admit though,  I was more than a little homesick for my "Seattle" after getting our copy in the mail!

Tied Up! More Nautical Rope Decorating Ideas

Inspired by the nautical decor showcased in the "Give Me Some Rope" article, featured in the 2015 Seaside Style magazine,  I thought I would update you all on some of our latest rope and knot maritime decorating trends discovered for this year.

Jacqueline deMontravel, the author of the article had some wonderful maritime ideas profiled, including a fun pillow and rug from our store. (so cool!) A classic design motif throughout time, rope and knot themed home decor, for us, symbolizes enjoying a shore home and living beside the sea. Not only for tying up the boat, rope decor knots your your beach house style together.

Can't go wrong with adding even just a hint of this seaworthy trend!

Our new Coastal Retreat Pillows are now in stock - LOVE the ropes!

Timeless navy blue maritime decorating with a "rope" twist! One of our favorite finds this year -

Rope Mirrors in new sizes and shapes!  We love this Nautical Rally Mirror, there is also a square and a triangle version to match.
A simple take on a porthole, this round wood mirror with its' rope handle is a nautical decorating essential. A little bit rustic, but totally coastal cool!

Enchanting new Lanterns with rope handles!  Perfect for indoor or outdoor illumination - large enough to make a beautiful statement in a coastal home. (we have several styles - come see!)

Our Yellow Striped Anchor Pillow - Featured in Seaside Style Magazine!

Check out the Blue Crab and Rope pillow also. The embroidered and appliqued details on these pillows in absolutely incredible.  Bonus - they can be used outside too!

P.S. Coming soon - a NEW Red Striped version of the Anchor Pillow

Tie one on with this delightful Sailor's Knot Area Rug! Also featured in Seaside Style

And for just a little touch of knots and rope, these nautical Masthead napkin holders make wonderful gifts.  Plus the "rope" weight keeps your napkins ship-shape!

One more lamp to show you - The Master Higgins Rope Lamp! Created of natural rope "tied up" into knotted spheres and capped off with a natural beachy linen shade.

Don't get me started!  Decorating with nautical rope designs is just one of my very favorite trends -

Seriously though, if you haven't grabbed the latest copy of  Seaside Style, make sure to pick a copy up the next time you are by your local magazine rack. This spring 2015 issue is packed full of enchanting beach and shore living ideas. I am still devouring my copy!

Coastal Decorating Highlights from our trip to Market!

Even though we are a "virtual" store, we really are much more than pictures and words.  To make
sure that we continue to innovate and find great beach house decor products, our little company heads off to market twice a year (sometimes more!) to make sure that we can touch base with our favorite manufacturers and we are constantly on the look out for new artists and new companies to work with.

Plus, most importantly to me,  we actually touch and feel just about everything that goes on the "Caron's Beach House" website. We are truly curating a collection of decor items that we like, and that are excited about offering to our customers.

We look for items that we would actually put in our home;  always searching for fun unique pieces, rich colors, luxury and quality. We also look for manufacturers to work with that share our vision for decorating coastal!

Here are a few highlights from our latest trip to the Las Vegas Market in January!  Many of these items are now available on our updated website.
