Tied Up! More Nautical Rope Decorating Ideas

Inspired by the nautical decor showcased in the "Give Me Some Rope" article, featured in the 2015 Seaside Style magazine,  I thought I would update you all on some of our latest rope and knot maritime decorating trends discovered for this year.

Jacqueline deMontravel, the author of the article had some wonderful maritime ideas profiled, including a fun pillow and rug from our store. (so cool!) A classic design motif throughout time, rope and knot themed home decor, for us, symbolizes enjoying a shore home and living beside the sea. Not only for tying up the boat, rope decor knots your your beach house style together.

Can't go wrong with adding even just a hint of this seaworthy trend!

Our new Coastal Retreat Pillows are now in stock - LOVE the ropes!

Timeless navy blue maritime decorating with a "rope" twist! One of our favorite finds this year -

Rope Mirrors in new sizes and shapes!  We love this Nautical Rally Mirror, there is also a square and a triangle version to match.
A simple take on a porthole, this round wood mirror with its' rope handle is a nautical decorating essential. A little bit rustic, but totally coastal cool!

Enchanting new Lanterns with rope handles!  Perfect for indoor or outdoor illumination - large enough to make a beautiful statement in a coastal home. (we have several styles - come see!)

Our Yellow Striped Anchor Pillow - Featured in Seaside Style Magazine!

Check out the Blue Crab and Rope pillow also. The embroidered and appliqued details on these pillows in absolutely incredible.  Bonus - they can be used outside too!

P.S. Coming soon - a NEW Red Striped version of the Anchor Pillow

Tie one on with this delightful Sailor's Knot Area Rug! Also featured in Seaside Style

And for just a little touch of knots and rope, these nautical Masthead napkin holders make wonderful gifts.  Plus the "rope" weight keeps your napkins ship-shape!

One more lamp to show you - The Master Higgins Rope Lamp! Created of natural rope "tied up" into knotted spheres and capped off with a natural beachy linen shade.

Don't get me started!  Decorating with nautical rope designs is just one of my very favorite trends -

Seriously though, if you haven't grabbed the latest copy of  Seaside Style, make sure to pick a copy up the next time you are by your local magazine rack. This spring 2015 issue is packed full of enchanting beach and shore living ideas. I am still devouring my copy!

Trend Alert: Design with Nautical Rope - Update!

As promised in our February Rope Design Trend post, we have now added many of the items that we "spied" at the Las Vegas Market Show earlier this year!  For even more rope-themed home decor check our site; just add "rope" in our handy search bar, and over 130 items will pop up!

Here are a few of my faves!

Wish I had a spot for this rope-wrapped Saturn Chandelier at our house!
Rope 14" Buoy Lantern - great polished nickel details!

This nautical lantern with the anchor details was one of my favorite finds at the market!  Just imagine large white candles and a sprinkling of white sea shells around them inside this lantern....  I might have to keep one for myself.
Very excited about this tall Burke Candle Holder in particular.  I like the idea of being able to add your own sea glass, rocks or seashells in the hurricane underneath the pillar holder. Coastal candle accents like these are so versatile - simply change out the details to fit with the season!

Keep your fingers crossed, it appears that HGTV Magazine will be featuring our fun rope wrapped hurricane in a later summer issue!  We were contacted by the magazine last week, requesting additional information and two hurricanes for a photo shoot.  Needless to say, I have more than just my fingers crossed!

Trend Alert: Design with Nautical Rope

Whew!  Just about done with our new site - should launch next week.  I gave us a little more time since Tom and I had our market trip planned to Vegas, and you never know what we might find at the show to add before the "Big" launch!

We found so many coastal home decor ideas, including so many ways to incorporate "rope" into home design.   Here are a few of my favorites from the show!

Arteriors Rope Lantern Lamp.  This will be on the new site, along with matching stand alone matching polished nickel and wood lanterns.

 Arteriors Home Rope Lanterns

Thought this was a cool idea! Converted a basket into a table with the addition of a round piece of glass.  Love the thick rope detail and the beach rocks inside. (From Lazy Susan)

Polished nickel cocktail accessories with thick black woven rope.  Really spectacular and elegant!  Not sure if you can see it in the background, there was a really cool matching rope wrapped round table with a removable polished tray on the top.  Could think of a thousand ways to use this table!

Polished brass anchor detailed lantern - adorable and unique!

We have these on our site right now, Fisherman's Lantern and Overboard Lantern.

Rope accented bottles

Rope-like texture on gorgeous sea grass rug from Surya (will be on the new site!)

 Rope-like Chandeliers

 Rope wrapped candle hurricanes

 More rope wrapped candle hurricanes.

More pretty rope-like textured rugs from Surya's Country Living Collection.  This will also definitely be on the new site!

Cannot wait to show you the new site next week!  Stay tuned.
