Coastal Easter Ideas to Try!

I love spring!  Spring here on our California Coast is especially gorgeous this year - every thing is blooming in all its' glory, from bright yellow shamrocks, to the explosion of Calla Lillies.  The last several years have been a bit bleak for blooms due to our historic drought, but the El Nino rains have been very kind this winter and our plants are totally digging it!

(Calla Lillies are from my front yard - bouquet with yellow bunny courtesy of Safeway)

I digress... Our Caron's Beach House crew has been so busy rounding up creative, charming ideas for celebrating Easter with a coastal theme, and I had to share some of my favorites that we've found for you this year.

1. Narwal Easter Eggs - Oh my gosh, these are just too adorable! From A Joyful Riot - click for the step by step instructions.

2.  Kate's Creative Space - why save these clear balls just for Christmas?  Love how she's used spring elements to create fun little place settings.   More Info!

3.  Make it Pink! Keeping it simple with deep fuchsia orchids, this gorgeous table setting by the sea welcomes guests with a slightly tropical style. From Hen House Linens

4.  A perfect beach cottage table setting - a little bit rustic, but beautiful with sea washed colors in the driftwood-like table, white linens, and aqua plates with Easter Eggs to match!  The bright yellow daffodils are a wonderful Spring finishing touch. (sorry not sure about the image source)

5. A bowl of sea-colored Easter Eggs makes a fabulous centerpiece!

6.  Nautical Bowl of Easter Eggs from The Mermaids Tale.  Seriously, check her entire blog post - so darn creative!  LOVE LOVE those little buoys and fish net covered eggs, not to mention the eggs sand dollar and sea urchin details.  WOW - am a little envious of the imagination that went into these beauties!

7.  Scatter white large shells and starfish among your colored eggs - another charming idea for a centerpiece on your Easter table. Starfish Cottage Blog

8.  Blue Marbled Eggs from Alice and Lois - crazy cool patterns and you have to love that elegant indigo blue.  How-to's on their blog - PS it's nail polish!

9.  Easter Egg Topiary Trees from Sand and Sisal - in beautiful beach cottage colors of sand, ivory and aqua.  How to's on her blog - here

10, Our front door.  This is about as DIY as I can get!

a Store bought colorful Easter Egg wreath (I think World Market?)
b. Glue gun
c. Clear Acrylic Spray
d. Beach found treasures.  have so many everywhere in my house, this was a great way to display some of them!
e. Pretty wired ribbon
f. Voila' - Easy Easter Wreath for the front door!

Have a wonderful weekend!  Hope we've inspired you to add a little coastal flair to your Easter celebrations.

Happy Easter Weekend at the Beach!

I might be about a week late to the party, but  think there might still be time to try a few of these ideas for an Easter weekend treat. If any of you know me... I am not a great diy'er, (I just don't have the time or patience right now!) but even I could pull off a few of these ideas.

First up - Peeps!

I don't think I have ever eaten a Peep in my life - but making smores out of them looks like fun!  Hmmm.. Tom did get a new bbq for Christmas, maybe we could try roasting them this weekend? I did buy new marshmallow roasting sticks at the Half Moon Bay Art Festival this past October....
(image source and ideas from  Eclectic Recipes  - cute blog!)

Peeps as cocktail "ornaments" - now this is an idea that I can definitely grasp! Bought blue bunny peeps, will post the images on Instagram if I can figure out how to make them look pretty.
Idea and pics from HomeisWheretheBoatIs.com - she has a bunch of super cute ideas for peeps as garnishes.  Must see her post!

Absolutely adorable!  Peeps swimming in blue jello cups, makes me miss having little kids around. Struggling a little with my "adult" children being so far away this year...
From TheFirstYearBlog.com - click for Beth's complete directions!

Next up: A few of my favorite Easter Egg decorating ideas for this year -

Love love love the retro tropical-beach decoupage images!  Way too cute, must see the whole blog for all of the directions and even printable images that you can use to create your own eggs.   Hop on over to Melodrama Decor.

Cute sparkly polka dot eggs from our friends at Coastal Living Magazine!  Styling by Julia Rutland, using spring colored glitter.

And a few centerpieces that might work for a quick pretty addition to your Easter weekend table -

Kristy is always up to something beautiful at Starfish Cottage!  Love her dining room table this year -  absolutely happy and gorgeous.

I would add shells to make these lanterns more coastal, but thought that this was a great idea!  Directions can be found Here

Such wonderful seaside colors  - simple, elegant and perfect centerpiece for an Easter brunch party.
(sorry - not sure of the source!)

9 Fun Ideas for Coastal and Nautical Easter Egg Decorating

So fun!  I had to share my collection on Pinterest, although you may have seen some of these ideas before, I thought they were still  worthy of a second look!

Make a garland of "beachy" colored eggs to grace your staircase - I would even try this outside on your deck rails.  Fun! (bhg.com)

From Boogie Board Cottage - so darn creative with decoupaged coastal treasures!  Make sure to see her entire blog post to find out how she made these little seaside beauties.

Gorgeous Gems of the Sea from Coastal Living!  Love these coastal aqua and turquoise shades of blue.

Way too cute - and affordable!  From my new friend Wendi at H20 Bungalow

So pretty, and looks like it might be fairly easy to do!  From Pleasures in Simple Things - make sure to see all of her ideas -

Sea Stripes in Turquoise and Aqua (love the basket!) from Coastal Living

How about a little "seaside" glamour?   Love the gold designs applied to aqua and turquoise - festive, and just a little bit different.  (bhg.com)

Also from Better Homes and Gardens - tropical, bright colored themed Easter eggs!  They are recommending a light application of decoupage and a sprinkle of sand to complete the look; I think I would also add a tiny bit of glitter.  (I do like my "bling"!)

Or maybe just a pretty basket of eggs tossed with white beach washed shells... Southern Hospitality Blog  This will probably be my option.   As you  can probably guess, I have piles of shells and sea glass always on hand to mix into a beach table decoration!

Would love to see your ideas for decorating for Easter with a "coastal" theme!  Send us note here or on our Facebook page -
