Caron's Beach House has a Featured Product in Coastal Living Mag!

So excited!  We were not sure that our little table would make the final cut for the article in April, and we were not sure exactly where our Antique Tortoise Table would appear in the the magazine.
Imagine my surprise and delight, when we were in our local New Leaf grocery store and I happened to pick up a copy of the April issue of Coastal Living at the check out while standing in line. Woo Hoo - there was our cute little coastal bamboo table, part of the "Get the Look - Anguilla" article!  I began to do a happy dance all around the other shoppers (much to Tom's embarrassment....) and bought 3 copies to send to our families.

Have to share Coastal Living's ideas and show off a little...

Love the butter yellow and light aqua-mint green combination of the resort rooms at Malliouhana. Relaxing, stress free coastal shades, as well as fresh and spring-like.

Combined with a touch of black and white in the artwork, this room comes alive, and doesn't feel "beach cottage", but actually much more elegant. I also think that the bamboo-rattan touches give this room a more island feel with a nod to British Colonial style.

And here we are!

Here's a few ideas from Caron's Beach House to capture "The Look".

Honestly, I am not crazy about the turquoise blue lamp and blue shade that were featured in the magazine. Personally I would go just a tad bit more subtle, but still keep the coral (one of our favorite looks!)  This white coral lamp from Regina Andrew Design might work perfectly with its' charcoal shade and elegant crystal details.   I also like this one because the coral does not look "fake" (really dislike fakey beach decor...)

Or maybe just a pretty turquoise glass lamp?  We just sent two of these Hatteras Seabreeze lamps to a new Margaritaville Hotel being built in Miami!

Yellow Stripes - love these new rugs that we just added for spring. The rugs are 100% cotton and reversible, wide stripes on one side, skinny stripes on the other side.  Two beach house rug looks for the price of one!

Or if you prefer, we have more colors to choose from!

There's just something about Black and White art that fascinates me.

And don't forget a fun throw to curl up with, and watch the sunset from that fabulous patio!
Love these aqua ruffled mint throws - just for that extra touch of interesting texture and design to complete a room.

Would love to hear what you all think about this color combo!

Orange Crushing - 10 Coastal Decorated Spaces

Maybe it's because I am from the grey, rainy Pacific Northwest, and I just crave color to escape the low flying clouds. Even after I left 5 years ago!

Seriously though, I think that orange shades (rust, tangerine, coral etc.)  in home decorating could be a new "neutral". Just about every other shade of the color spectrum coordinates well with a little creativity and imagination.

Remember, it's your home, and do what makes you feel happy - regardless of any "rules"! Be bold and daring to create your space to reflect you and your family.

Adding highlights of orange can make all the difference between a "ho-hum" entrance and a coastal foyer space with a light and happy feel of warmth!

Blue and white is a  super "safe" (boring) choice in decorating, and definitely makes a fun beach house less "fun".  Be bold, and a pop of orange, like with this intriguing mirror. Voila' - your foyer is instantly welcoming. (sorry - not sure of the source!)

Same idea; symmetrical aqua and glass lamps with driftwood and distressed beach cottage furniture = safe. Add practical, but interesting boxes in orange and the space take on a whole new meaning! (Erin Glennon Interiors - source)

Love this idea!  All neutral sea grass, white and dark wood - then add a simply foyer table in deep orange.  Completely changes the feel from "so-so" to Hot! (Nina Liddle Design)

Then let's talk about navy blue and orange - check out these living rooms!

From Coastal Living Magazine - love love love the way these vintage life rings were framed! Hmmm... gives me an idea. I DO have 3 of these orange life preservers hanging in my garage.

Simply adorable space!  Love the total infusion of color, sea grass rugs and "beachy art" juxtaposed against the lush velvet sofa.   Must see the whole space - profiled on House of Turquoise!

From HGTV and designer Darcie Goodman.  Can't beat the view, but the room is extra special with the orange pillows to add that extra feel. Otherwise I think this space would feel a little cold - needs the tangerine pillows (also like that they are not "sea themed"!)  to balance out the blue and white.

Or if you prefer, (my fave!) there is always turquoise and orange combined...

Big colors and beachy from DuJardin Design!  Love the whales too

Jane Coslick Cottage, of course! House of Turquoise

Love the seashells, abstract art and rustic feel coffee table.  Great cottage room!

Color Drunk Designs - wow.  Those deep orange chairs are a strong statement in this room but I kinda like them!

Lots more of inspiration on our Pinterest Board - Crushing on Orange!  Saving bedroom ideas for one of my next blog posts.

Have a wonderful weekend -

PS  Did you see our orange striped pillows in the HGTV Magazine this month (April 2015 Issue)?  So excited to have 2 of our fun Surya Pillows featured!  Check them out at Caron's Beach House

Coastal Decorating Highlights from our trip to Market!

Even though we are a "virtual" store, we really are much more than pictures and words.  To make
sure that we continue to innovate and find great beach house decor products, our little company heads off to market twice a year (sometimes more!) to make sure that we can touch base with our favorite manufacturers and we are constantly on the look out for new artists and new companies to work with.

Plus, most importantly to me,  we actually touch and feel just about everything that goes on the "Caron's Beach House" website. We are truly curating a collection of decor items that we like, and that are excited about offering to our customers.

We look for items that we would actually put in our home;  always searching for fun unique pieces, rich colors, luxury and quality. We also look for manufacturers to work with that share our vision for decorating coastal!

Here are a few highlights from our latest trip to the Las Vegas Market in January!  Many of these items are now available on our updated website.
